Getting braces is an investment in a smile that’s meant to last for many years. To make sure the cost is well
worth it, Milton Orthodontics is proud to act as a dental insurance-friendly orthodontic office that accepts all
plans and providers. When an orthodontic treatment is necessary for oral health reasons, dental insurance is
normally willing to pay for exams, orthopedic devices, and other orthodontic services. We will also work with you to
ensure that you get the most out of the benefits that you’re entitled to.
How Dental Insurance Works
The coverage offered by dental insurance varies from plan to plan; it’s a good idea to review your own
provisions very carefully before beginning your treatment, although we’re more than happy to go over the
details with you. Keep in mind that once you begin the orthodontic process, it’s best to finish it under
the same insurance plan. Switching to a different plan typically results in a penalty.
What Does Dental Insurance Pay For?
Dental insurance typically only kicks in for treatments meant to protect or improve oral health. If your teeth
are being straightened for purely cosmetic reasons, your plan typically won’t cover you. However, most
insurance carriers are willing to pay for at least part of the cost of medically necessary procedures, such as
braces that are intended to realign the jaw or make chewing easier in the future. To make sure the service is
covered, confirm that the current waiting period is fulfilled and that you’ve enrolled before the
beginning of the treatment.
The Difference Between In-Network and Out-of-Network Orthodontic Offices
An orthodontic office that is “in-network” with your dental insurance has agreed to set specific
prices for the services they provide. While “out-of-network” orthodontic offices have made no such
agreements, they can still accept your insurance plan in order to save you money. Whether Milton Orthodontics is
in or out for you, we can still help you maximize your benefits to ensure your care is budget-friendly
